A walk along the river bank to Steart has been organised for this Sunday starting from the Anchor Inn Combwich at 10am. As you will know the River Parrett will be breached later in the summer to form the new wetland habitat and it will no longer be possible to walk the whole of this route (an alternative route will be open soon.)
Our walk on Sunday may be the last organised walk to Steart but will afford the opportunity to view the developments as we go, including the site of the 200meter breach in the river bank.
This is an easy flat walk, suitable for all the family of about three miles out to Steart village and three miles back by road. For those not wanting to walk both ways it may be possible to arrange for cars to be parked in Steart village car park for the return journey. If you need assistance with these arrangements please ring 652399.
As always walking boots and a waterproof jacket together with a drink are recommended.
