The new footpath leading from the track by Combwich Common is arousing lots of interest and we hoped it would be available for walkers very soon. Unfortunately there is still a significant amount of work that is required to bring the bridleway and associated works, adjacent to it, to a standard that the developers feel would be safe to allow members of the public to walk. There is also a need for the formal diversion order to be approved.
The work on the whole Steart project has been delayed by the weather and it is not expected that the new path will be open until the spring. At that time Tim McGraph of WWT has offered to lead a guided walk when he can explain the vision of the scheme and describe the various elements of the scheme. Something to look forward to.
